CPR Education

In cases of cardiac arrest, every second counts. Immediate CPR and defibrillation can make the difference between life and death. While EMS and public safety responders are well-equipped to handle these emergencies, early intervention by bystanders—especially through CPR—plays a vital role. At Binghamton University, we’re fortunate to have EMS response times well below the national average. However, we strongly encourage all members of our campus community to become CPR certified and familiar with AED use. Many lives have been saved here thanks to the swift, skilled actions of bystanders and the availability of public access AEDs across campus.

Each year, Harpur’s Ferry trains thousands of students, faculty, and staff in hands-only CPR and AED use, completely free of charge. For those seeking formal certification in CPR, we regularly offer training sessions. If you’re interested in signing up—or would like to arrange a class for your organization—please complete the Google Form linked below.
